Administer medications and monitor continuous PCA pumps for multiple complex patients safely

Establish and maintain relationships with the interprofessional medical team to coordinate care for patient as a whole
Administer pre medications, infuse chemotherapy, and monitor for any adverse events that can occur during infusions
Assess lab values upon patient arrival to treatment room to verify labs are within parameters to administer treatment
Cancer Center GI Clinic 3-2 Clinic Nurse rotating position (September 2021- August 2022)
Offer assistance across care continuum to patients and caregivers to coordinate care and navigate health system barriers
Educate patients and caregivers on chemotherapy process and potential side effects
Frequently check in on patients receiving chemotherapy and assist in side effect symptom management
Help facilitate the transfer of patients from clinic whom have arrived to clinic with critical lab values/issues
Complete prior authorizations for prescriptions and necessary imaging
Triage patient messages and calls
