Registered Nurse
Interim Healthcare
January 2006 to November 2006
Cared for a child who was on a vent 24 hours a day. Also worked with G- Tube daily. Provided all medications during 12 hour shifts including G Tube feedings and breathing treatments. In this same home cared for a child with shaken baby syndrome also with a G tube. He injured self, became combative on a dime and required a lot of care and nurturing. These children change my thinking on many nursing myths told to me. The best experience of my nursing career was caring for these 2 patients.
Registered Nurse- Select in home services
November 2006 to October 2013
Overseen 60-80 medicaid waiver, veteran and private pay patients. Placed homemakers in their home after training them on personal care, bathing, dressing and grooming, assisting with meals and light house work. Provided home visits as required regularly and when patient is ill and also unannounced visits to maintain the care the member is receiving from the homemaker assigned to him/her. Worked with case management agencies to ensure the service plan for the member meets him/her needs and is adjusted as needed. These patients would be in a nursing home if not for these programs.
