Analysis of ERCOT energy prices in Texas using Tableau Aug 2022 - Dec 2022

• Investigated the uniquely decentralized electricity grid in Texas that runs on market demand by finding out why Texas implemented controlled outages in 2021 despite high demand using tableau to make sense of raw data.

• Ensured data quality by using Tableau to create a flow in order to sort, filter, and clean data then perform joins and unions on data, to create 4 combination files for data visualization.

• Created multiple dashboards by conducting data modelling on the combination files to visualize 6 sets of weather patterns with demand and supply curves.

• Performed data analysis using a Storyline to show that Texas implemented controlled outages in 2021 despite high demand due to lack of supply under extreme weather and price spikes exceeding the cap of $9000 per Megawatt hours.
