Job Title: 24/7 Drilling Operations Engineer

Assigned at Chevron DSC “Drilling Support Center”, providing Real time / Remote engineering support for multiple global wells; Identify performance optimization to change practices and deliver top quartile performance; Monitor the daily drilling operations of up to 8 rigs, using a TnD model to assist operation with BHA trips, and liner/casing runs. Prepare daily drilling progress updates, including Depth vs Depth, performance comparison vs offsets, NPT, directional plan vs actual, and EOWR’s; Used Plan of Action (POA) to ensure that execution follows the basis of design and best operating practices for each well; work as a team with DSR’s, Drilling engineers, Geosteering engineers, and directional drilling remote operators preparing procedure changes/ updates, in case of unscheduled events i.e., squeeze procedures, sidetrack procedures, temporary abandonment procedures, etc; Utilized benchmarking, KPIs, and performance analysis tools to identify opportunities to improve execution practices, transfer these into actionable items for rig teams, monitor implementation, and ensure sustainability of performance improvement; Performs engineering analysis, provide updates and runs engineering simulations with industry standard software packages (e.g., Corva, Landmark EDM, Schlumberger, K&M ERA, etc.), captures event reports, and provides performance & engineering insight to the rig team; Supports drilling performance through implementation of parameter roadmaps, monitoring of shocks & vibrations, and review of connection / tripping practices.
