Managing this grant required: generating annual budgets and compiling budget justifications to support students to attend/present at local, national, and international research symposiums and allocating funds for student travel ranging from Birmingham, England to Puerto Rico to Turkey to Anaheim, CA to present their research

• Secured $272K for 6 Asphalt Pavement Development Design Research Grants which enabled my students to conduct Asphalt chemistry research and generate virgin petroleum. Securing the grant required, developing the research plan to determine how to extract the petroleum, preparing/submitting proposal to the Department of Transportation, and leveraging the research plan to manage and allocate budget to purchase equipment to conduct research projects. Once grants were secured oversaw student research to generate deliverables

• Managed $173K from Oklahoma IdeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence to finance and equip research laboratories for Chemistry/Biology/Agriculture and Mathematics Departments

• Secured $80K from Carnegie Mellon University’s Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center to develop bioinformatics program over 2-years. Created structure for final content curriculum for the course and collaborated with 3-faculty members to obtain input on bioinformatics modules
