Consult and coordinate with multiple health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Teach patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury by explaining post-treatment home care needs. Change dressings, inserts catheters, starts IVs. Creating and continuing personalized care and wellness plans for clients of all types.

Miami Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center: April 2019 - Jan 2021

Registered Nurse assisting with preoperative, intra-operative and post-operative care in an ambulatory surgery center seeing upward of 400 patients weekly. Responsible for documentation of patient assessment, patient medications, health history and past surgeries. Starting and discontinuing IV catheters and chest ports. Assisting intra-operative for procedures such as epidurals, radio frequency ablations, nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulator implants/explants, Vertiflex implants, MILD procedures, pain pump implants, sacroiliac fusions, nerve stimulator implantation research, phacoemulsification of cataracts with insertion of lens of the eyes, blepharoplasties, liposuctions and fat transfers. Perform recovery assessment for patients returning to surgery. Performing interventions on patients in need of pain medication. Provide education on procedures, treatment and discharge instructions.
