June 2016 Pathology Support Tech

As a Pathology Support Tech my job duties varies from supplies to material handling patients blood collections. I receive supplies from the loading dock and stock all supplies on the shelves to make sure that if at any time supplies are needed they on there. I also responsibly for glassware which means all glass instruments get taken up to the glassware room and is loaded into machine to get wash for daily use. Material handling is very important in the Pathology Lab because its dealing with the lives of Texas Childrens young patients. Speciems are transported thru a tube station where it comes down and has to be clocked in at a timely matter. Once clocked in I deliver to different processinf station and the techs will preform the test that is ordered. Once test is ordered I pick the speciems back up and deliver to proper resting area. Last but not least Im in charge of keeping storage room clean and making sure all inventory is keep in proper places.

Nova Medical centers

Houston TX May 5 2014- June 2016

Patient Transportation picking up and dropping off patients to Nova facility for either Dr. Appointment or physical therapy. Also assist the front desk with helping put in patients for drug testing are new injury. In my down time sweep mop and clean facility so that we have a clean and safe work environment.

Supervisor over the Maintenance Dept. Make sure the floors are mopped, vacuumed as well as dusted and meets the approval of COO. Sets up appointments for plumbers and electricians to conduct services required. Transports medical supplies to the other 4 off site location. Monthly fire extinguishers check, as well as prepare for monthly biohazard bags and sharps container pick up. Knowledge from a four hour safety class during orientation. Also setup and prepare for monthly health fairs. Primary responsibilities are to maintain the up keep of exam rooms, bathrooms, front lobby, and conference rooms. My responsibilities are to open, close, and lock up the health center on a daily basis of operations. Multiple hours of training from a Certified Compliance Officer. Orders monthly supplies and makes sure that all 4 sites are running in orderly fashion. Transport patients to and from either of our four sites.Brainstorm and come up with ideas and and plans to bring in more business to the Health Center. Certified in rapid HIV testing, also performed blood pressure, glucose,and cholesterol. All around team player.
