I did landscaping such as mulching laying bricks/rocks etc. After a year of working consistently I was offered to operate one of the work trucks and also have the opportunity for full time pay and hours unfortunately my pay and hours stayed the same at $15 hourly rate. I was constantly busy my coworkers loved my work ethic especially how young I was and how fast I picked up on what I was told to do. I’ve worked with food the whole time worked the fryer broiler and assembling sandwiches. I went in early mornings to stock I’ve worked there I stocked for about an hour to an hour and a half stocking. I was only on training for maybe 3 hours at max and never got to train in anything other than the broiler but I’ve operated all machines in there, everyone loved me there because I stayed busy when I wouldn’t have anything to do I kept myself busy by cleaning my area once my area was clean and I still ain’t have anything to do I would grab the broom and dust pan and sweep every where and if there wasn’t anything left for me to do I would do dishes and go through waste inventory. My brother was working at carstar when I was 17 and they needed extra help with detailing so I came in and was a full time detailer from 7 to 4 every day and even some days I would stay over time to help extra to wash the employees cars I stayed busy the whole time except my mandatory Breaks I got compliments on my work ethic multiple times when there wasn’t any cars left to wash I would grab the shop broom and go around the whole shop sweeping I would even scrub walls after I would get done because I didn’t have anything else to do.
