Secunetics, Inc. 2020 – 2023

Senior Consultant

Served as a Senior Consultant to the DOI’s AMU team for BigFix. Performed daily operations and maintenance of HCL BigFix. Effectively used tier 2 and 3 troubleshooting experience to identify and remediate BigFix issues including general Windows services and network communications. Maintained and monitored the health of the BigFix Endpoint management environment including BigFix Web Reporting servers, the BigFix Console, BigFix Compliance, BigFix Inventory, and the WebUI interface.

Worked on creating multiple SOPs, documenting the status of the product, and used our internal change management to provide the team with the current patch levels/hotfixes for our environment

Assisted the customer with any and all patching needs (MS Windows, RHEL, Mac) to assure a strong security posture.

Instrumental in architecting and implementing the separation of SQL databases to the respective application servers to enhance performance and minimize downtime.

Maintained the BOD security content on a daily basis to ensure that the CISA list is accurately represented in BigFix Web Reports. Worked with the bureaus regarding compliance with CVEs/KEVS.

USDA Contractor NATEK /FMI 2011 - 2020

System Administrator

Served as subject matter expert for BigFix for the USDA. Oversaw the deployment and health of the BigFix client for over 120,000 computers, with the majority being Windows systems. Ensured all modules were running optimally (Web Reports, Security Compliance and Analytics, BigFix Inventory, and WebUI). Architect/implemented system wide upgrades of the product. Worked daily remediating any system health issues and provided superior customer support. Provided DHS and the FBI with information about the existence of “indicators” using BigFix client tools. Worked directly with the Information Security Center developing roadmaps to enhance the USDA’s security posture. Completed IBM’s Master BigFix class. Served as BigFix team lead for the USDA. Provided recommendations to the OCIO in regards to server/network specifications for BigFix.

Worked with Tanium to stand up an environment that replaced BigFix.

Honeywell International 2007 - 2010

Senior Network Administrator w/ Manpower Professional

Monitored/maintained over 150 Flight Information Systems weather ground stations. Responsible for their satellite connectivity with Hughes Network Systems. Reviewed server logs daily so that all servers ran efficiently and met the organization’s uptime requirements. Maintained and monitored multiple routers and their respective T1 and PVC connections. Utilized Orion’s SolarWinds and Microsoft Operation Manager 2005 to develop a robust and fault tolerant alerting system.

Sprint Corporate 2007

Contractor for Sprint, ITG

Built, maintained, and documented the rollout of Exchange 2007 with CCR Clusters. Installed and configured Microsoft’s Data Protection Manager for disaster recovery. Performed in depth troubleshooting in regard to issues with SAN storage. Also worked with EMC to resolve any SAN issues. Built and documented SQL CCR clusters for the Exchange databases. Created technical documentation for application installations and configurations such as: SQL clustering, Exchange 2007 CCR clustering, Exchange 2007, and Microsoft DPM.

Word-Tech Business Systems 2005 to 2007

Senior Consultant

Instituted multiple Citrix Presentation Server 5.0 farms. Implemented and maintained installations of Active Directory. Created user accounts, Organization Units and modified Group Policies to ensure the security of the network. Using industry standards developed multiple rollouts of both Microsoft Exchange and SQL server. Installed and configured VMWare servers for Citrix, Exchange and SQL. Installed and configured multiple Cisco routers. Wrote their configuration files to meet the customer’s needs. Utilized both Cisco TAC and Cisco’s configuration checker for confirmation. Performed security audits for credit unions, identifying potential threats then worked with them to resolve those issues.
