RF Design Engineer

January 2020 – July 2020

Telnet Inc – Hanover, MD

Client: AT&T

Vendor: Nokia

Design engineer for AT&T Baltimore and Washington DC region.

Designed small cells with 1900, 2100, 5200 and 700 along with 5G mmW 39GHz band.

Conducted GIS analysis using Mapinfo and Google Earth to release search ring based on traffic maps.

Evaluated RSRP and SINR prediction on Atoll for the small cell candidates. Negotiating site technology capabilities according to the small cell design.

Presented micro, pico and mmW predictions and simulations for the candidate small cells to AT&T managers.

Considered financial aspect while accepting candidates and conducted cost justification on costly sites.

Saved 30% cost with BBU reshuffling study with the intention to maintain standard site configuration in BBU across the market, reserving additional BBUs for 5G mmW deployment.

Created RFDS on Autoforms and improving documentation process to reduce modifications and revisits.

Compared omni and directional antenna predictions and determining best possible solution.

Coordinated with other engineering departments.

RF Design Engineer

June 2017 – December 2019

NextGen Global Resourcing – Burlington, MA

Client: Sprint

Vendor: Samsung & Nokia

Design engineer for Sprint New England & Upstate East region markets.

Ran analysis and evaluated 800, 1900, 2500 & Massive MIMO and 5G to determine cell site location and site configuration.

Used Atoll for prediction of macro upgrades, small cells, new site builds and relocation candidate designs. Comparing pre post RSRP and SINR analysis.

Utilized Google Earth and Atoll/ArcGIS for candidate analysis determining geographical limitations.

Created RFDS for macro upgrades, small cells, new and event sites showing relevance with plumbing diagram.

Coordination with RF Performance regarding site KPIs, drive test and impact on neighbour sites while planning.

Determined search ring locations and preferred candidate sites in the search ring area. Got recognized across the department to target the worst affected areas and coming up with coverage solutions.

Completed site E911 and CIQ task and dealing with changes and error resolution.

Solved problems on issue sites, like selection of shorter tri-band antennas and flag poles designs.

Determined and used alternate frequency channels and sector azimuth combinations for Canadian border sites.

Ensured frequency channels are well isolated at spectrum boundary. Used alternate channels to avoid conflict.

Audited passive components and introduced losses in the transmitter if any left unattended in Atoll.

Utilized Atoll APMA module to correct morphology directly correcting propagation model on existing cell sites. Verifying results by coinciding predictions with drive test.
