Should you use an agency to find a UK sponsor?

By now you will either be applying for UK care jobs or getting your covering letter and CV ready in preparation.
You have two options here - using an agency or applying directly.
Approaching an employer directly can have many advantages - you'll be in a smaller pool of applicants & potentially be more attractive because you can be hired without agency fees.
On the other hand, you'll need to be prepared to complete a large number of applications & tailor them to each employer.
Applying using an agency can be a better option, especially if you have a particularly strong general application to stand out in a large number of applicants.
What should I expect of an agency?
It is illegal for agencies in the UK to charge fees to candidates for recruitment, although they can provide paid services such as help with CVs.
Successful candidates are generally asked to pay for their own visa applications and meet the expenses of all the associated documents. These include English tests, police checks & TB certificates.
Sometimes the hiring employer will pick up these expenses & reimburse the successful candidate.
Although they are not actually required until an offer of sponsorship has been made, you can expect most agencies to ask whether you already have some of the above.
It is for you to decide whether it is worth the expense of attaining these ahead of your application, but it's clearly an advantage.
Do agencies require the Care Certificate?
