Additional Information:
While working within the Department of Corrections, I have often used Behavioral Modification methods. I have had many experiences with mentally ill, unruly, agitated and often aggressive offenders. By utilizing my experience and training, over the many years with the DOC, I have developed great skill and ability in diffusing potentially dangerous situations. By using positive reinforcement and Interpersonal Communication Skills, I have been successful in redirecting an individual’s attentions and emotions into positive and productive activities. I have given these individuals jobs, something to concentrate on and put effort into to bring self-confidence and pride to a job well done, all done with positive reinforcement. Also instilling the ability to accept construction criticism when a job needs a little more work or effort to be complete. Ability to adapt, prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks or projects in response to ambiguous, changing or competing priorities
Working at MCF-Lino Lakes, I am often training new security staff on the policies and procedures for the Department of Corrections. I take pride in a job well done as well as seeing the junior staff that I have trained succeed. I have often been tasked in maintaining the unit supplies and offender payroll, as well as Special Projects, such as collecting and compiling all necessary documentation to meet the ACA Standards for Segregation Unit.
