Swine Farm Operations

Nucleus Breeding Farm Area Coordinator (1997-2006)

• Managed the 600 Sow Level nucleus farm operations that produced at least 3,300 head PS Gilts and 150 head Terminal Boars annually. My responsibility includes genetic production forecasting and allocation to four (4) PS farms in the North Mindanao Livestock Operations.

• Oversaw the planning and implementation of the breeding programs for GP and PS Farms to ensure steady production of quality meats. This is an annual production of 127,00 market hogs that is marketed to Mindanao and Visayas.

South Mindanao Area Operations Head (2007-2013)

• Managed a 3,500 Parent Stock (PS) sow level operations consisting of five (5) farms.

• Conducted technical training and updating of livestock technical personnel under my supervision. Topics discussed:

a. Production control

b. How to improve Farrowing Rate

c. How to increase Piglet Born Alive (PBA)

d. How to improve ADG, FCR and Harvest recovery in Nursery and Growing

• Successfully spearheaded the conversion from Continuous Breeding to Three-Week Batch Breeding system for the South Mindanao Livestock Operations. The transition allowed for correct allocation of spaces and better work schedules for the livestock personnel. This is the only cluster that has been able to convert all farms to weekly system of production. Business Expansion: External Function as part of being the South Mindanao Area Operations Head

• Spearheaded the swine farm recruitment and operations’ expansion for the Breeding and Growing modules in South Mindanao Livestock Operations for SMFI as part of my external functions. I was able to recruit Three (3) Breeding Farms and Five Growing Farms from 2007 to 2013. The operations grew from 2,000 Sow Level to 3,500 Sow Level and the growing capacity from 15,000 to 21,000.

North Mindanao Area Operations Manager (2015 to 2021)

• Overseeing the 2,000 Grand Parent Farms and the 4,000 Parent Stock Farms with the help of six (6) Animal Production Specialist (APS) under my supervision.

• Recruited a key business partner and transitioned new management of SMFI Sumilao Breeding Farm to ensure business continuity.

• Successfully negotiated for the establishment of the third disinfection point in Brgy. San Miguel, Manolo Fortich, to further enhance the biosecurity control for ASF prevention. Farm Operations Manager, RDJ AgriFarm, Inc. Sumilao Bukidnon (June 2021 to April 30, 2022)

Cattle Farm Operations

Beef Cattle Breeding and Fattening Operations Head (concurrent position, 2007-2013)

• Managed the beef cattle breeding and fattening operations for SMFI in Polomolok, South Cotabato from 2007 to 2013.

• Selected yearling cattle in Australia for the beef cattle growing operations from 2009 to 2012, consisting about eight shipments, with an average of 3,500 yearlings per shipment.

• Successfully negotiated for a chopped corn stalk supply agreement when there was a scarcity of pineapple pulp for the beef cattle operations of SMFI. This ensures the continuity of operations and regular supply of beef to our meat shops of about 1,000 heads per month. LIST of TRAININGS ATTENDED
