I was a coating line operator for 23 years painting steel panels for outdoor storage building's. My major accomplishment for me is I never ever got hurt on the job. My other that I am proud of the most is I made the company money. I tried with all my heart to limit the amount of scrap everyday and that's hard to do. I was proud of my time there. Never thought in a million years they would close

I worked for 23 years as a coating line operator. Many different area's in the company. From packing to fork lift to shipping and finally the coating line where I would over see the coating using galvanizing, a chemcoat application and then paint on top of that.all this applications are pulled through a 1500 degree oven and baked on to the steel. My job was to pull a coil mostly around 15000 foot coil through these compartments and into a rewind section for final finished product. We then would use fork lifts to flip the coil into a wooden pallet and shipped to our sister company in breeze Illinois I would continually be a QC as well. So not much sit down time
