Achievements in Vestas
2007-2009 I worked for the central quality department in Vestas mainly in Asia as manager for Supplier Qualification and Development. Some of the main achievements from this period was turnaround of the performance of some of our main suppliers CSW (Vietnam, China) and Taewoong Flanges (South Korea).
In 2009 I was transferred from Denmark to Colorado to support the start up of the new Tower factory for Vestas. It was a half year assignment to endure ISO certification within 6 months after production start.
After the half year assignment, I took on the role as Production Quality Manager for the tower factory. I was part of a management staff of 5 people starting up the factory.
I hired in the Quality staff consisting of 40 NDT inspectors, 12 Quality inspectors and 4 Quality Engineers.
Together we build the Quality organization, and established all quality procedures, measurement methods for photogrammetry and NDT scan of welding’s, paint inspections etc.
In 2913 I transferred to Denmark as Technical manager at Vestas Nacelles in Ringkøbing. It was a mature organization with lots of skills and experience (the “mother factory for Vestas”).
The factory was the primary factory for introducing all new versions of nacelles to the production line. Afterwards we were responsible to ensure the technological transfer to all other nacelle factories globally within Vestas.
During my employment at Vestas Nacelles we successfully improved the efficiency of the factory. Over 2 years we raised the output from 14 nacelles/week to 25. This was achieved by constant focus on standard work in all aspects of production down to creation of job cards describing all work elements for each position in the factory within a two hour tact time.
