Advanced Auto Sales, 5269 E Washington Street 46219 - Detailer

● Remove every item (disposing of the trash) from incoming vehicles, labeling them by the car or last name of the previous owner, and store the accessories for thirty days (to give the person time to retrieve their belongings).

● Sweeping the floorboards, washing the exterior of the cars in the local car wash, wiping down the interior, restoring floor mats using carpet cleaners for all incoming vehicles. Periodically, it was necessary to touch up the existing cars (deep cleaning the exterior and interior) because harsh weather conditions can dirty the outside very quickly. Test drives by customers and sales reps track dirt, mud, wetness, etc. onto the floorboards. Plus customers often smoke cigarettes during their test run and ashes blow all over the interior.

● Shoveling the snow off the lot, laying down salt every time it snows and/or when the ground gets icy/slick.

● Scraping ice/snow off of each car in the lot.

● Changing batteries in the recently purchased or repoed ones if the old battery had a dead cell or was bad at all. Replacing small parts of vehicles when needed; such as, brakes, rear view mirrors if broken or detached, headlights/brake lights/signal lights if they are no longer working. Any problems outside of these, the shop fixes.

● Painting with a spray gun on the vehicles if necessary (up to a certain size). For example, if half of the paint on the car needs redone, then it will be sent to the paint shop. If only the bottom half of a door needed touched up, detailers do it in the garage. 2

● Strapping the parts to a lifter and using the machine to dip each part and sending it down to the drying area.

Education

08/2005-08/2005

Emmanuel High School, Southwest Side of Indianapolis - Did Not Graduate Aspirations

When I was younger, I was not the smartest boy nor was I the happiest. My parents were split up, and my mother was never around. My brothers and father was all I had during adolescence. I am the youngest with having three older brothers. I suppose it would be reasonable to accept the fact that I looked up to them, did the same things, talked the same way, etc. My brothers had dropped out as well, and they were always in trouble and running the streets. My father had addictions during this time, and he was lost trying to find love after his failed marriage. I did not have anyone positive to look up to, learn from, or encourage me. Life spent in the streets usually results in one very common outcome, being arrested. I went to jail, prison, and on every privilege the county allows as well (house arrest, probation, work release). I expected everyone to fix my problems and downfalls while I did nothing to improve myself. I seriously had zero responsibilities. All my cases closed officially in 2012 (deposition year), I had stayed out of trouble and moved back in with my father who had found himself and refused to waste his life searching for woman companionship. I still decided to go out and have fun with a couple friends here and there, but I knew my limit and when it was time to go home. In August of 2013, I started my first job ever and began dating a girl from my childhood who was not a fan of the troublemaking and all about her education/career. Our first son was born May 2014. I am often being judged for the sins of my past in which I cannot change what I did. I am now expecting my third child, and I want to start my career. I want to be the man that my sons can look up to. All I 3

need is to be given the opportunity, and I will work harder and faster than I ever have. Not one person has ever achieved anything without given the chance whether it was being accepted to college, getting the call from that dream company you've been so interested in for months saying you got the job, or simply being given the gift of parenthood. My son's motivated me to hit the reset button, and strive to find my career path just to give them that image of their father being the “hardworking, career type of guy.”People whom did not graduate, like myself, take chances on career people with suits and ties every day. We rely on them to hire us, to run multi-million dollar companies like the IRS who processes tax refunds, to make the system of life function effectively. All I'm asking for is the opportunity to greater my life and be that image for my sons to idolize.
