PROJECTS

: Screening of Various Fungi for Lovastatin Producti on and its Antifungal Activity., 153 Days

The core work of this project was to screen lovastatin producing fungi from various soil samples and its

antifungal activity was studied. Eleven different fungi were screened for lovastatin production by TLC. Out of these four were found to produce lovastatin. These were further confirmed by HPLC analysis. All results were compared with the Aspergillus terreus culture (NCIM No. 660) obtained from NCL, Pune. Antifungal activity was studied using bioassay method.
