Promoted to Complex Supervisor, I directly supervise 10 Complex Site Supervisors and 200 Guard Force in the everyday duties of the Baghdad Embassy Security Force, providing mobile as well as static security for the United States Embassy Compound and personnel.

I am currently working as a Complex Site Supervisor on the WPS Program for the Department of State. I perform as a supervisor on the Baghdad Embassy Security Force (BESF) supervising all areas of physical plant, mobile and personal security for the US Embassy.
September, 2008 to January 2010
I worked as an International Correctional Advisor in the ICITAP program for MPRI. My functions were to advise mentor and train, Iraqi counterparts in the building of capacity and management of a functioning Correctional system, working with mid-management in performing various assignments pertaining to the Iraqi Correctional System. I was directly involved with the training and application of physical plant and security and safety of all prisoners and employees. I was qualified on all weapons used in my job performance, ie: 9mm, M-4. M-16, as well as chemical agents
1999 to 2008
I was appointed to the rank of Captain in July of 1999 at the Riverside Correctional Facility. I was re-assigned to the Deerfield Correctional Facility in February, 2004. In January of 2005 I transferred to the Ionia Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility. As the Shift Commander I am responsible for the implementation of all policy and procedures. I directly supervise 12 Sgts. and approx. 240 Correctional officers. I am directly involved with the planning and updating of, Policy and Procedures. I manage and supervise all custody and security aspects of the shift. I was extensively involved in the disciplinary investigation process, performing investigations and administering corrective action. I sit on numerous committees overlooking the continuing operation of the facility. I oversee all training for the facility, ensuring all training and training standards are adhered to, as well as ensuring all weapons qualifications are kept up to date. In the past have been directly involved with the Use of Force training modules, sexual harassment training, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, Weapons Qualifications., CPR training, First Aid training., Application of Physical Restraints, Chemical Agents, Cell extraction techniques, managing of disruptive prisoners and disturbance control procedures. The list is not all inclusive. This training is carried out annually for all Department Employees.
Riverside Correctional Facility 1999
I was appointed to an acting Captain on of 5-1-1999. All duties remain the same as assistant Shift Commander with the exception of that I no longer act as the Shift Commander in the Captains absence. I worked as an Security Inspector, overseeing all areas of the facility.
1997-1999
As Assistant Shift Commander my responsibilities are broad. I act as the Shift Commander in the Captains absence. I supervise the functioning of custody and security areas, as well as the assigning and supervision of custody staff. I am responsible for the administration, assignment and direction of eight sergeants and approximately one hundred and ten correctional officers. I direct and coordinate all prisoner movement and am responsible for proper implementation of Departmental and Institutional policies, procedures and MCO contracts. I ensure staff are familiar with emergency procedures regarding disturbance control, fire, suicide, disruptive prisoners, natural disaster and escape. Maintenance of all employee records of my assigned shift in regards to annual leave, sick leave, overtime, service ratings, counseling memorandums, investigations and the continuous monitoring of job performances falls under the description of my assigned duties.
1996-1999
From 1996 to 1997 I functioned as a Corrections Shift Supervisor 11 (Sergeant). I worked all the general population housing, residential treatment program units and segregation units. I was trained in control center duties and squad. Supervised security officers in the performance of housing unit security as well as perimeter and physical plant security. I worked as transportation supervisor, transporting prisoners throughout the region.
Riverside Correctional Facility 1988-19969
Performed as an OJT on up to an E-10 (RUO). I hired in as a correctional medical aide (CMA). When the department abolished the CMA positions, working extensively with the guilty but mentally ill prisoners, these prisoners ranged in security level from minimum to maximum security. I transferred into corrections. I worked in all areas of custody as well as a Resident Unit Officer in all housing units. I worked extensively in physical plant security, perimeter security and housing security.
Military
I served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. I served overseas in the 237th Engineer group as a Demolition Specialists. I entered the service in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1972.
Education
15-credit hours in Corrections at Montcalm Community College. Proficient in Weapons, and Physical Restraints, as well as chemical agents. Department of Corrections, Managerial Leadership Training..
