This process has importance of the necessary steps involved in insuring our patient’s safety, privacy and attention to detail. Due to the nature of the vast increase of responsibilities in my position, I am also the liaison between my direct supervisor and coordinators to report any and all finding that need to be addressed while maintaining our off-sites. I am also responsible for placing our supply orders, so all locations are well stocked and prepared for all staff that may be called to cover any of our locations.

Responsible for collection in-patient and outpatient specimens on an exact times basis as certain tests require critical draw times for the direct care of the patient with the new Mobilab System. This is a process newly implemented to create an even greater comfort level in our patients, by the awareness of our company taking further measures to secure the safety of both them and their blood specimens. I am also responsible the managing and organization of the Phlebotomy supply room. My responsibilities include, keeping my immediate supervisor informed of any supplies needed for her pacing of the next order, to keep an accurate supply of all essentials necessary supplies available and in their appropriate place so they are attainable at all times for the shifts to run flawlessly. I have also recently began assisting at our Oncology/Hematology site and work the specimens directly for 6 individual Oncologists/Hematologists. This position recently added the responsibility for entering the batching specimens to prepare them for transport pick-up and assist the Medical Technicians. All these procedures must coincide with patients appointments that are due to receive chemotherapy treatment, re-hydration, and iron injections etc. This can also include tending to patients in their office appointments which are located on a separate floor in their physician’s office.
