As a project development assistant in the PCC, I promoted the farming of genetically improved native water buffalo as a source of milk, meat, draft and hide as a means to improve the general well-being of millions of rural farming families. I have handled with patience and perseverance the difficulty of introducing our program and services to farmers/clients who have limited educational background and have limited information about dairy buffalo farming. I have surpassed those challenging circumstances and was able to succeed at my work and renew job contracts with the center 14 times during the past six years.
My duties and responsibilities:
Conduct monitoring of associations and cooperative assisted; Assist Veterinarian/AI Technician such as deworming, vitamin administration, eartagging and other technical tasks; Conduct animal breeding performance and health record within the Regional Impact Zone (RIZ) and Dairy Zone areas;
Ensure and monitor the quality and number of milk in the village- based dairying;
Conduct Carabao-based Enterprise Development (CBED) related activities in the areas covered;
Record and record keeping of pertinent documents;
consolidated and encoded data collected from project staffs/technicians, assisted associations and cooperatives to be submitted to main office as part of our center’s monthly contribution report;
I helped organize trainings to encourage carabao raisers/farmers to start farming dairy buffaloes as a source of income; I networked with business owners, associations, cooperatives and farmers with different perspectives and status in living or business. facilitated our section’s semestral performance rating; Assist in the conduct of students and visitors orientation; I am also skilled in formulating basic database and pivoting data using Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel;
Assist preparation of budget/training proposal both cash advance or reimbursement and other office related paper works; I have handled I have acquired skills in handling email and storage services such as Yahoo! Mail, Outlook, Gmail and Google Drive and have become proficient in designing layouts for programs, publicities such as (posters, event backdrops, signages), products, ID’s and etc., using Microsoft Publisher and Canva; Do other related task as requested by the Director and/ or supervisor.
