Armstrong World Industries

Quality & Claims Manager/Account Manager / Lab Manager 1996-2023 In this role I was the liaison between contractors, distributors, architects, sales reps, sales managers and the manufacturing plant. This required the ability to work at many levels and build trust amongst the customer base and leverage those relationships to promote the company brand while working within the plant to ensure employees were accountable to meeting established standards. Claims Management - Experience in domestic and international claims resolutions that often required site visits, work and contract negotiations. Conducted site investigations to determine causes, ie the product was truly defective or installation error played a role. Determine best solutions to keep installation on track and be least intrusive to customer deadlines. Often scheduled and shipped material straight to job sites for convenience to the customer. Led crews to install material at times to go above and beyond expectation, which included scheduling material deliveries, lifts, scaffolding, scheduling for customer convenience and company efficiency. Some key responsibilities and skills include:

• Customer visits to establish relationships, instill trust and communicate positive changes that were made within the company that would have an impact on the customer. Relationship Builder

• Daily product audits including 24 hour checks and bundle re-inspections

• Investigate shipping claims for root cause and determine if the company, the customer or the transportation provider is at fault. Negotiate settlements and resolutions. Worked with logistics to modify shipping practices if/when needed.

• Reduced claims from 100+ a month to an average of 10 a month while working at the Macon, Ga plant. Drove overall dollars paid from 600K+ in 2010 to 75K year to date in 2023.

• Managed the lab employees - conducted performance reviews, directed work schedules etc.

• Vendor relationship management - Manage raw material inventories and issue non compliances

• Delivered lowest ever claims percent for two different manufacturing facilities

(Macon and Pensacola) in 12 of the last 13 years
