For my capstone project, I spent a year leading a team of my colleagues in researching, designing, assembling, and testing an embedded, solar-powered camera sensor for the purpose of remotely collecting and processing image data of coastal tidal flooding with integrated machine learning for our sponsoring researchers. Throughout the year spent on this project, I learned invaluable cooperative skills on how to effectively work with and manage a team, as well as many technical skills involving IOT devices, such as web server development, serial communications, and code optimization.
