Consulting Professional Engineer

Assume role as the only PE on the staff. Secure all professional engineering certifications on all Plug and Abandonment/Decommission Projects in the Gulf of Mexico Shelf. Perform hourly activities on researching files and working up procedures. Conduct reviews on all procedures and ensure all work is in compliance with BSEE regulations and is completed on time and under budget.

Reviewed complex procedures with BSEE officials and achieved first-time approvals on all 4 procedures enabling project commencement before initial forecast.

Studied new P&A regulations and ensured that all time spent on projects was cost-effective.

Duties include, day to day drilling activity, writing all drilling reports, MOC on any drilling procedure, Lessons Learnt Reports, & MWD/PWD data review. Sit in on all morning calls and safety reviews. Review all procedures prior to being distributed. Act as an adviser to all critical operations.

Performed role of drilling/plug and abandonment/work over engineer on projects and consulted for McMoRan Oil and Gas on drilling, P&A snubbing and international reviews. Oversaw all phases of projects from engineering and planning to implementation and completion with a focus on keeping the wells operating within budget. Managed field personnel provided by Client Company. Developed diverse APD’s and casing designs for client as well as all detail drilling engineering designs related to the planning of future drilling projects for deep HTHP wells offshore. Provided PE certifications for all P&A for Tarpon Operating and Sandridge. Also consulted for Lukoil, USA deep water Ivory Coast.

Developed engineering design and APD’s and performed drilling engineering duties on 2 extremely complex 35,000’ HTHP wells in the Gulf of Mexico that required unique and seldom required skills and took over a year to reach TD (Total Depth).

Completed all phases of a complex snubbing project at East Cameron 42 within budget that included freeing tools stuck in tubing for over 8 years at over 3000# pressure in addition to killing both the well and the platform.

Oversaw numerous successful subsea P&A projects and 2 international well reviews for 2 deep water projects in the Ivory Coast on time and within budget.

DYNAMIC OFFSHORE ENERGY LLC, Houston, Texas • 2008-2010

Drilling Manager

Assumed role of sole Drilling Manager/Engineer in the company and led all phases of drilling 3 wells per year. Provided all detailed engineering design in the offshore industry and managed bids, timing and project planning. Produced cost estimates for all potential drilling projects. Conducted reviews on all P&A procedures as the only engineer with a PE license prior to certification and submission to BSEE. Directed all well site supervisors, safety managers and shore base managers. Secured all PE Certifications for all P&A projects. Performed role of interim Decommissioning Manager when incumbent was out of office.

Halted major drilling fluid losses by employing a rarely used product and drilled the well to TD on time and within budget.

Ensured that all AFEs (Authority for Expenditure) were within budget.

Performed role of sole Drilling Manager/Engineer in the company and oversaw all projects from start to finish including all bids, timing and planning. Managed field supervisors and developed all detail drilling engineering, completion and work over well designs for all inland water and land operations including HTHP wells. Provided cost estimates for all potential drilling projects during downtime. Solved highly complex issues that posed major problems for company’s business objectives.

Led a deep HTHP well project that was completed in record time and delivered numerous additional inland well projects on time and within budget as well as some P&A inland well projects that were under budget.

BP AMERICAS, Houston, Texas • 2005-2007

Consultant Drilling Engineer

Acted as sole Drilling Engineer in the Permian Basin and oversaw drilling of 8 consecutive wells as well as leading a P&A project in the Tuscaloosa Trend. Provided all detail drilling, completion engineering well designs, and operations management. Guided all aspects of projects including bids, project planning and timing. Authored a paper on drilling success on horizontal wells in the Permian Basin that was presented at the National AADE Conference.

Set a number of records in air and horizontal drilling and ensured 7 of the 8 wells were drilled under budget and ahead of schedule.

Achieved numerous records through knowledgeable vendor recommendations that saved BP significant drilling costs.

EL PASO CORPORATION, Houston, Texas • 2001-2004

Principle Drilling Engineer - Offshore

Oversaw field supervisors, played a leading role on a drilling engineering staff of 10 engineers in the offshore divisions, and held oversight for engineering design, bids, timing and planning. Attended daily report meetings and discussed all aspects of operations for preceding 24 hours. Developed all detailed drilling engineering well designs and procedures. Managed bids, pipe programs, mud, bit selection, cementing, and logging for HPHT wells from 15,000’ to 23,000’ on the GOM shelf.

Authored and presented an SPE paper at the OTC Conference on well control while running an expandable casing in a deep hot hole at 21,000’,
