Project Description

Unclaimed Property Initiative Project is a Data Integration Project for UPI Compliance. UPI identifies the policies that have unclaimed funds and ensures these funds are paid to the beneficiaries or escheated to states. Informatica 9.0.1/SSIS are the ETL tools used for extracting and loading data for Resolution and Pre-resolution process of the project and SQL Server Reporting is used for creating reports.

Responsibilities & Contributions

• Lead the offshore team with tracking the task assigned to all team members, providing technical guidance and support for resolving complex issues.

Encounter is normally a monthly process through which finalized claims data are extracted from the claims processing system and submitted to the State for processing. The project involves pulling the claim data from the institutional and professional claim header and detail tables in WCF (WellPoint Common Format) format and then convert to HIPAA 837 format or proprietary layout before submitting to state, submit to state, receive 997 acknowledgements and updates the database. The migration of Pharmacy business from legacy NextRx applications to ESI application was the key focus area for Pharmacy Solutions Group (PSG) in 2010. PSG assists, co-ordinates, and supports the transparent migration of the WellPoint members to ESI. Post 2010, one of the major activities for the PSG is to ensure the migrated members Claims at ESI are adjudicated exactly the same way as they would be at WellPoint. The current option of validating the Claims through Compass would not be feasible for performing audits in a large scale. So a new design was proposed that would create a platform for PSG to perform the validation in a large scale and identify the benefit set-up issues at ESI. Rejected claims were not being pulled in the extract. Separate files were generated for each ESI DIV. Extracted Claims files were FTP’ed to ESI via the GA bridge server. The claims migration process has the following processes.

Process to extract all historical paid and reversal claims from the claims history files with date of service from 1/1/2008 through 12/31/2010.

Process to separate the reformatted file based on ESI DIV code. The final files are generated based on ESI DIV code/month.

Process to reformat the extracted claim details into ESI requested layout (Claims layout) with header, detail and trailer.

Process to FTP the final Claims file.

This project was developed for multiple clients listed above and the scope of this project is to develop interfaces for COBRA, PAYROLL and FSA.

The COBRA interface will provide a list, eligible for COBRA benefits. The eligibility data will be provided to ADP and Ceridian on a weekly basis depending on their integration definition. Payroll Interface calculates the amount that has to be deducted from the employee’s pay check for the health benefits that he has opted for, and submitted to employer’s payroll system. The payroll file contains deduction record and earning record and sent to the employer based on the pay frequency of the employee. Deduction record gives the amount that the employee has to pay the employer on a regular basis for electing the benefit. Earnings record gives the amount that the employer will be paying the employee on a regular basis for the employee opting out of the plan.

FSA interface will provide information about indicative data, Health care Election Amount, Dependent care Election Amount, Termination dates for health care or dependent care plans. Type 20 record corresponds to health care election while type 21 corresponds to dependent care.
