I worked the last four years designing and building Spam, Stir/Shaken, UCID applications and in-house monitoring applications for required FCC demand services utilizing automated software and manual entry needs to build and enter code written inhouse and associated updates. These were built-out in a VIVA cloud platform using automated tooling for code pushes, maintenance activities, management, firewall, ticketing, on the fly and emergency application changes, troubleshooting, and resolution using Redhat/centos and inhouse and vendor supported applications such as Alerta, ELK, Promethius Jenkins, Horizon and IRIS/netscout. Used other applications to include DNS A and B record management, IOP updates (entering elements for triggered alarms and auto ticketing) and designing and building cloud platforms in an automated environment.

2006-2017

Primary POC for circuit, facility optical, and electrical transport interconnect while maintaining Tellabs NGX 5500-S, Sycamore DNX11 D-Link DCS, Symmetricom SSU2000 Bits clock, and JDSU Centest CT650 and providing support for Cisco BTS soft switch, MGX 8880, and Genband Safari in 24/7 on-call environment. Facilitated operations engineering support for Nokia 1650 media gateway and media gateway controllers, maintaining and performing upgrades for hardware/software and troubleshooting break/fix and outage management.

Organization lead for transitioning surveillance tasks and basic troubleshooting as well as trouble resolution, aiding team of contractors. Trained and promoted knowledge transfer to team, taking surveillance duties and supporting peers in core learning process through structured, side-by-side coaching and learning. The goal for this group was to assist as tier II to the tier III team (which I was a part of) to quickly determine next steps, perform basic break fix, and reduce time to ticket and engagement of tier III. LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS, Broomfield, Colorado - Manager, Northeastern U.S. - 2004-2006

Service Request manager of eastern U.S., overseeing provisioning, wiring, testing, and turn-up of both U.S. and intercontinental (China and Europe) circuits and facilities. Assumed and facilitated day-to-day management responsibilities for provisioning team activities related to design and wire test and turn-up of T1 through OC192 circuits and facilities on the 10G x 16 backbone.

Implementation and Deployment Engineer – 1999 - 2004

Gained and utilized strong escalation negotiation and management skills to best meet customer demands and business needs and requirements to service level agreements. Improved division-level metrics through operations science reporting and subsequent high bar identification and real-time resolution of internal process lapses and needed service improvements, fully driving continual improvement in speed, accuracy, and quality of service to customers. Reported and demonstrated said improvements. Completed special projects management for a Homeland Security contract as well as optical to contract for all Sears and Walmart retail outlets.

Conversion to optical-based systems, including scope, process development, interviewing, staffing and release thereof, and analysis and building of internal and external organizational partnerships to meet goals and desired outcomes for our IXC, LEC and RBOC partners. Processed network equipment augments through ordering and deployment of equipment throughout network to meet growth needs of company, working with planning, procurement, NOC, and field personnel to complete installation and system-wide data representations within both specific and expedited guidelines

Designed and implemented 16X10Gig DWDM Wave systems across Nortel supported Rings, 4 fiber BLSR, 2 fiber UPSR, IP infrastructure, and lower-level backbone facilities for consumption by customer-facing circuit designers. Wrote processes around QA and data integrity requirements, resulting in 98% accurate representation of network backbone as it changed each day.

AT&T, Denver, Colorado, Communications Technician/Tester, 1989-2000.

Designed training curriculum for routing and trunking translations in 4ESS and 5E OSPS switching systems. Taught provisioning, trunking, and routing translations to teams of new translations specialists (new team every four to six weeks). Reduced learning curve from 18 months to six months via in-depth, step-by-step instruction.

Performed testing of DS0 and T1 and T3 circuits with LECs, CLECs, and RBOCs. Completed cut packages and circuit migrations for AT&T and LEC business needs while working on teams converting all AT&T and associated LEC serving wire centers in U.S. from 7D to 10D dialing, feature group C to feature group D conversion as well as SS7 turn up and 911 access solutions for AT&T local Services and performing maintenances in appropriate maintenance window.

Facilitated and managed problem-solving and trouble resolution of circuits, facilities, and provisioning translations. Co-wrote 5E2000 trunking and routing translations document manual.
