I created a maintenance department in a company that has never employed a maintenance technician, they depended solely on contractors or production workers. Down time averaged days or weeks before I came. Now down time is regularly within mins to hours. Production has quintupled, downtime is at an unprecedented low (4%), and we have expanded from two production lines and baggers, to six production lines and eight baggers. My department was responsible for receiving, setting up, and commissioning all new lines alone. We hired licensed electrician, plumbing, and carpentry contractors for city permitted code requirements.
