PROFILE
Lead Role - Quality driven and safety conscious, hosting an atmosphere of teamwork and completing projects ahead of schedule and under budget. Attended Dale Carnegie seminars for “Excellence in Customer Service for Managers”, in order to further my ability to effectively communicate with and exceed customers’ expectations. Lead a team of up to eight installers on major telephone central office installations. Remotely guided junior electronics technicians through installations and troubleshooting assignments. Identified and eliminated need for unused lease lines and modems resulting in thousands of dollars of savings to the budget per year. Managed the installation and maintenance of millions of dollars of military assets at main installation and nine remote locations in the Southern California area.
Installation - In charge of major telephone central office installations and upgrades to include processor, ring node and software upgrades, Ethernet installation, peripheral communications equipment installation, cabling, powering up, database population, testing and troubleshooting while adhering to the highest quality standards. Composed detailed Method of Procedures (MOP) to inform customer of the steps being taken during the installation process. Built “test bed” and brought online the military’s first PC based message trafficking circuit allowing messages to be distributed via floppy diskette, eliminating paper copies, thus reducing costs.
Maintenance – Most recently employed as a Lead RF Electronics Bench Technician where I troubleshoot electronic circuit boards, replace failed electronic components and case parts. Performed preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of analog and digital circuitry equipment to include cryptographic, HF and UHF transmitters and receivers, radar, sonar and associated antennae. Familiarized myself with ship’s failing, high tech navigation system with no formal training and kept functional throughout three major deployments.
