OBJECTIVE

To work under the direction of a physical therapist in providing treatments and procedures. Assist in the development of individual treatments for patients with physical impairments using modalities. Develop a plan of action and carry out routine functions within the scope of treatment plans, established by a physical therapist.

PTA Responsibilities:

Perform therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercise to rehabilitate patients who are working to regain full range of motion and strengthen injured muscle groups as part of the plan of care. Observe patient before, during and after therapy, noting patient status and reporting to physical therapist. Other techniques include but not limited to stretching and therapeutic ultrasounds.

Over 750 Hours of extensive massage and bodyworks training including lecture.

Knowledge in various Eastern and Western modalities and techniques.
