Al-Shuaiba/Al-Hartha Power Plants, Basra, Iraq (April, 2014 to Date) Manager Electrical (O&M) with Prodiesel and GCMS (American company) Al-Shuaiba equipped with two Alstom gas turbines GT13D3A/DM having capacity of 92 MW/each While Al-Hartha equipped with four GE TM2500+G4 gas turbines. Both stations have 132KV AIS switchyards.

Duties & Responsibilities;

1. To manage whole E&I maintenance department to perform day to day corrective and preventive maintenance activities.

2. To coordinate with Iraq ministry of electricity and perform monthly energy metering and billing.

3. To test plant protection relays (transmission lines, transformers and generators) for their health check after six month are as required by both parties. 4. To perform calibration of energy meters after six month or as required by both parties. 5. Manage PM/CM and major maintenance activities.

6. Perform major overhauling of switchyard, transmission lines, generators, motors and turbines.

7. Prepare schedules and plans for PM jobs.

8. Perform root cause failure analysis and make recommendations to avoid future failures. 9. Prepare equipment maintenance procedures according to OEM recommendations and to identify improvements in work practices at the plant. 10. Ensure safety of plant, workers and environment. 11. 4. Review all plant electrical, control, instrumentation and interlocking diagrams. 5. Deal with Wapda teams for monthly energy meter reading and related reporting. 6. Review all plant P&IDs.

7. Participate in commissioning of fire fighting system. 8. Check and report the progress of project to management from O & M side. 9. Manage and control The Electrical and C&I Department. 10. Conduct on job training of our staff related to plant operation and maintenance. 11. Rectification of the faults for proper operation of complex. 12. Generator Expertise

Expert in routine inspection, testing, minor and major overhauling of turbo and low speed generators, rotor and stator testing including IR, PI and winding resistance testing, wedge tightness testing, rotor removal, dry ice cleaning, re-varnishing, CT/PTs testing, water coolers cleaning and all related maintenance activities. Have sufficient experience of SFC/LCI, generator excitation system (AVR), Rotating and static excitation, Slip rings. etc Transformer Expertise:

I have a lot of experience in testing of almost all types of transformers. Transformers routine electrical testing, meggering, connection tightness, bushing replacement, tap changer inspection and testing, safeties testing (bucholz relay, pressure relief device, oil and winding temperatures), Transformer oil analysis including dissolve gas analysis (DGA), oil dehydration and all related maintenance activates.

LV/MV/HV Switchgear Systems:

I am expert in all type of power systems from low voltage to high voltages. Have erection commissioning and testing experience. Can work on air, vacuum and gas (sf6) operated devices as breakers, disconnect switches, earth switches. Have sufficient knowledge of protection relays for generators, transformers and switchyard. Turbine Power and Control System Expertise:

I have experience of turbines starting frequency convertors (SFC/LCI), excitation system, synchronization system and control system. I have good knowledge of all types of instruments eg level, pressure, flow, temperature for their calibration and fault rectification. Turbine Auxiliaries, HRSG, Fuel Separators, Auxiliary Boilers Expertise: I have good knowledge and fault rectification experience of turbine auxiliary systems including HRSG and their soot blowers/lance tubes, dampers, control valves and related instruments, boilers (fire tubes or gas tube), lube oil and fuel purifiers of Alfa laval and westfalia, cooling towers, heat exchangers etc.
