EXPERIENCE
METHODS AND STANDARDS /INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, HRU Technical Resources
Review new jobs or processes for accuracy and completeness. Use window-based assets to complete research on tooling and check inventory (FACS, CAPPS and LMP). Request market surveys for purchase of required tooling and production aids. Work closely with process engineers, programming, and tool design personnel to develop new processes for manufacture of weapons components, and determine tooling required. Support the production of small arms and artillery components through technical knowledge of machine processes and capabilities. Utilize knowledge of machining methodology, work measurement, industry work processes, product and/or equipment to develop new or unique manufacturing processes and methods
(e.g.: high speed, ramp, helical and circular interpolation milling). Investigate and recommend new or revised tooling.
Perform tasks such as development of machinability tables for use in Methods and Standards for possible complete retooling of active shop orders. Experience conducting methods studies to define and suggest methods of operations, process improvements, work standardization and simplification (lean). Skilled in troubleshooting manufacturing problems in prove out situations. In-depth knowledge of current tooling, its application, coatings and cutting
parameters. Proficient in various formats of programming of CNC machine tools. Worked primarily with Haas mills,
Mazak integrex and I 150’s with Capto and Hydro-grip tooling holders.
SHIFT FOREMAN, Armalite Arms
Responsible for assigning jobs on third shift to employees, general oversight of manufacture of small arms.
OKUMA APPLICATIONS ENGINEER, ELLISON MACHINE TOOLS & ROBOTICS
Work closely with customers to train personnel and troubleshoot their unique programming and operational problems. Meet with customers on a regular basis to discuss any changes in process. Work with customer’s inspection department to meet their C.P.K. requirements and plan turnkey tooling runoff to determine “best fit” tool package.
PROGRAMMER, FOREMAN, INSPECTOR, SAFETY COORDINATOR & TOOL GRINDER TOOL ROOM MACHINIST, LEWIS MACHINE AND TOOL
(Bridgeport’s, surface grinders, engine lathes and sand blasting), program several types of C.N.C. equipment. Work with tooling venders to optimize application tooling. Familiar with Mazatrol, Okuma and other EIA style programming, some experience working with Solid works and Mega Cad to DXF programs. Tool grinder utilizing Walter Helitronic CNC machine tool (program packages 1 thru 7).
CNC PROGRAMMER/OPERATOR, JANCY ENGINEERING
Program Warner Swasey lathes and run production.
