Raised several million dollars for this organization.

Cooker Restaurant Corporation
Served as Chairman and CEO of this public casual dining restaurant company. 1999 – 2004
Was called in by the board to save this troubled company with 64 restaurants in eight states because I had started the concept in 1984 and operated it successfully before we sold it. We restructured the company in Chapter 11, with the support of the banks, reduced debt from $82 million to $27 million and got the company producing positive cash flow.
SkillSearch Corporation 1995 – 1999
Served as Chairman and CEO of this private company, which began by building a database of college alumni and selling searches to companies looking for talent. Changed the company’s service to CareerHighway.com, a resume database which found candidates through university alumni associations and through a joint venture with Clear Channel Communications, Inc., the world’s largest owner of radio stations.

Served first as Executive Vice President and a Director, then as President, then as Chairman and CEO of this public company which operated 89 restaurants under the Wendy’s, Ireland’s, Mr. Gatti’s, Cooker and Tempo’s banners. The company was sold in 1994 to DavCo Restaurants, Inc.
Ireland’s Restaurants, Inc. 1974 – 1978
Served as President and a Director, and later also as Chairman, of this public company, which operated casual dining restaurants. This company purchased Wendy’s of Nashville, Inc. in 1979 and the company was renamed Southern Hospitality Corporation.
CBM, Inc. 1968 – 1974
Served as a Vice President and Director, then President, then Chairman and CEO of this private computer facilities management company in Cleveland, Ohio. Served during this time as a “professional company fix-it man” for venture capitalists who had invested in this and other companies.
Kanawha Valley Bank 1965 – 1968
Joined this bank in Charleston, West Virginia (the state’s largest bank) after graduation from Yale as a management trainee, becoming the youngest officer in the prior history of the bank in 1967. Worked in commercial lending, trust and data processing departments and led the computerization of the trust department, which was several times the size of the bank.
