I rapidly ascended the enlisted ranks from Seaman (E-1) to Petty Officer 1st Class (E-6) in 5 years. The last 4 years of my Naval Service was assigned to a Navy Brig in Millington, Tennessee. My responsibilities included the custody, control, health/ welfare and rehabilitation of incarcerated military personnel.
