EDUCATION

University of Rhode Island (URI) Kingston, RI MS Mechanical Engineering Anticipated Graduation Date: May 2017

GPA: 3.33/4.0

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Graduation Date: May 2014

Minor, Nuclear Engineering

GPA: 3.4/4.0

Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering Graduation Date: May 2014

RELEVANT GENERAL SKILLS WILLING TO RELOCATE

Degreed in Mechanical and Ocean Engineering with a minor in Nuclear Engineering. Working towards a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with only a paper left to finish my degree. Have acquired extensive experience in using Solid Works as well as experience solving Statics, Linear control systems, Differential Equations, Composite material structural analysis, Finite element analysis, Elasticity, Heat Transfer, Acoustics, Wave mechanics and littoral processes, and Nuclear fission problems. Attained a general understanding of Visual Basic and Arduino programming skills as well as the use of MatLab. Proficient in English and Spanish as well as able to use Microsoft Office.

RELEVANT COURSE WORK

Mechanical Design

Designed multiple mechanical systems with Solidworks. Final project was modeling a working engine.

Mechanical senior capstone design

Came up with multiple designs and built a single belt system

System was used to transport a radiation detector through the core of a nuclear reactor

Was in charge of the Solidworks designs

Ocean systems design

Worked with one other group member to design an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

Built the vehicle prototype and then refined it to make a final product

Programmed the vehicle to run through an obstacle course using PIC/Arduino

Ocean senior capstone design

Worked with 14 other engineering students to design and produce a buoy

The buoy served as a docking station for underwater vehicles to recharge their batteries

Electronics team leader

Programmed the GUI and chips as well as wired all the electronics

Mechatronics

Became familiarized with VisualBasic and Arduino

Programmed a stepper motor to oscillate back and forth

Made multiple programs for Arduino and VB to communicate

Final project was a mini SONAR which used an oscillator, stepper motor, and mini speakers

Real Time Monitoring & Control

Made an oscilloscope in VB

Made a client and server program which would communicate back and forth

oThe programs would both send and receive inputs and outputs to switch cases for different functions

Final project was to run a rotary table program and have real time graphing of the position of the rotary table.

oAll the information was sent through a client and server program.

Other courses

- Mechanics of composite materials

- Theory of elasticity

- Heat Transfer

- Theory of Continuous Media
