OSP Engineer (Make-Ready Engineer), October 2015-Present

Performing work for Bechtel on the Google Fiber Project in the Nashville area.

Worked the 3rd shift providing technical support and training for an offshore team of 90+ engineers.

Identify any NESC or utility violations and revise point of attachment for fiber bundle to meet NESC and utility clearance requirements.

Complete pole surveys, pole loading analysis, drawings, and QC drawings in support of application preparation and submittal.

Devise new approaches to problems and prepare and modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and company standards.

Develop, implement, and scale the end to end process for make-ready, permitting, right of way, etc. to accelerate FTTH design and construction.

Receive field data and transfer said data to create a complete utility application for attachment to poles. Call out infractions at the pole and make necessary recommendations for remediation.

Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and National Electrical Safety Code construction requirements.

Working experience performing relocation, pole replacements, loading, and remediation (make ready).

Design experience using SPIDACalc (pole loading analysis software).
