R&D Group Leader/ Technical Service Manager 1994 – 2000

Managed department of eight individuals in providing laboratory support for corporate customer service, technical service and manufacturing departments. Led and managed product complaint investigations, custom color formulations, paint and specialty floor coating sales aid sample preparation and manufacturing support of custom paint products. Provided analytical chemical support for corporate, as well as purchasing and distribution of laboratory supplies. Managed laboratory budgets in excess of $350,000. Managed R&D department of seven associates responsible for research and development of hot melt adhesives for disposable diapers, feminine napkins and other non-woven articles. Provided direct technical support to Sales in product presentations, field technical service and complaint investigations. Responsible for technical support of global operations that included technology transfer to overseas operations, formulation development of new products and customer support.

Developed hot melt adhesive in conjunction with disposable diaper machine manufacturer and customer to support new in-line application of diaper tape tab landing strip with hot melt adhesives.

Organized and led 24/6 intradepartmental lab effort to develop improved adhesive for new diaper launch of major customer in tight time frame. Completed project in three months, beating two key national competitors.

Developed hot melt adhesives for non-woven consumer articles such as disposable diapers, feminine napkins and hospital pads. Provided technical support for domestic and international sales efforts.
