Prior to tender award: Look after MEP design issues- value engineering, comprehensiveness and functionality wise; review project specifications and vendors’ lists, design drawings and BOQ; assess MEP contractors and sub- consultants; delineate contractors’ duties scope of works in tender packages. Post-tender stage: oversee materials technical submittals; supervise equipment procurement; record contractors’ progress rate versus milestones and try to enhance it; evaluate MEP contractors progress reports; attend some factory tests; witness some commissioning tests on-site; evaluate contractor’s claims, appraise Requests For Alternatives, draft up variation orders and purchase orders; guide the project handover, de-snagging and final close out; communicate with client and end user throughout; liaise with authorities to obtain Construction NOC’s; follow up on Non-conformance and Site Observation reports.
