Jan 2013-Current Investigator, Cook County Sheriff’s Office – Chicago, IL

My duties are to fully investigate any complaints or allegations made against the Cook County Sheriff's Office and its employees; specifically complaints or allegations involving the Cook County Department of Corrections, Sheriff’s Police, and Court Service Deputies. I am in charge of investigating all employee positive drug tests and also handle the majority of workplace sexual harassment and harassment cases. Duties are accomplished through investigative research of documents, databases, social media, interviews of witnesses and accused, through communication with other local law enforcement agencies, and the application of Sheriff's Orders and General Orders. My findings are compiled into a comprehensive report and when applicable my report is used to determine disciplinary measures. This work directly helps the executive management of the Sheriff’s Office. This position required an extensive 10 week training to become a Certified Illinois Peace Officer, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and objectivity.

Mar 2010-Nov 2011 Physical Scientist/Evidence Analyst, FBI Laboratory – Quantico, VA

I was responsible for the management and documentation of evidence throughout its entire lifespan at the laboratory. Management and documentation of evidence was handled through a rigorous inventory process and chain of custody. One case could have thousands of items of evidence that I had to account for. I worked multiple cases at a time. I also acted as a liaison between evidence contributors and the FBI Laboratory and between the forensic units within the laboratory. This position required excellent written and verbal communication skills, an acute attention to detail, and objectivity. Full year experience at the GS-11 level.

July 2008-Mar 2010 Physical Scientist/Forensic Examiner, FBI Laboratory – Quantico, VA

I underwent a rigorous 18 month training program specializing in the science of friction ridge skin. I also processed and analyzed items of evidence for the presence of friction ridge skin impressions under the supervision of a certified Physical Scientist/Forensic Examiner. I compiled reports on my findings. I conducted research on developing friction ridge skin impressions on human skin and research on vision science principles applied to the forensic examiner. This position required excellent written and oral communication skills. Promoted from GS7 to GS-9.

May 2007-July 2007 Crisis Intervention Specialist, Valley Health Care – Morgantown, WV

My responsibilities included offering counseling services through a suicide and crisis hotline and one on one counseling sessions, organizing mental hygiene hearings, and to find institutional placement for those found legally to be a danger to themselves or others. Effective counseling, organizational skills, and communication skills were required to perform this job.
