To Whom it May Concern:
The most important factor to me, more important than salary, is that I'm always learning. I’m 21 years young and I’m extremely passionate about all things science and technology. I’ve been working seriously with technology for nearly 8 years, however I am certainly not afraid to admit when I'm not completely knowledgeable on a subject and furthermore I'm not afraid to ask a co-worker for that additional explanation. (However my googling skills are more than proficient) Although, it's still important to me that my co-workers are receptive and conducive to a growth environment. For the past few years I’ve been working in several different startups, from being a part of the original idea to coming onboard during the final stages of funding. I worked with OTT companies, with an emphasis on streaming live events, using our own Wowza servers or Akamai’s, while managing our own static streams on Level3 or Akamai. Later I began working inside a data center, learning the infrastructure, requirements, and ins and outs for maintaining multiples floors of servers. At Cedexis we worked on analytics & CDN/Cloud load-balancing, generating the most granular maps and benchmarks of some of the largest network infrastructure in the world. Now I’m eager to join a company that I can call home, somewhere I can truly dedicate myself to understanding the company/product and ultimately make a real difference. Also, due to my young age and broad foundation in technology, I'd love to discuss any other open positions you may have available. Some of my skills not covered in my resume:
- Superb communications skills, lover of sciences, geek, nerd, but still kinda cool.
- Server/Workstation extensive hardware knowledge and linux operating systems including FreeBSD, pfSense, Ubuntu, CentOS, and lesser knowledge on Redhat, Debian, Fedora, etc. -Knowledge in Bash, Shell scripting, VMware, 10+ years of Windows.
- Multiple programming/scripting languages - Python, C++, C#, Java, Javascript, however developing isn’t my niche, I do have many years of experience and can read most code.
- Streaming protocols like HLS, HDS, RTMP, maintaining, debugging, setting up redundancies. Extensive knowledge of CDN providers w/ emphasis on Geo, web-based SaaS solutions.
- Helpdesk ticket systems, Jira, Confluence, Atlassian, Salesforce, other support software. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and the consideration. I hope this has given you a good idea of who I am. I encourage you to call or email me at anytime. Alec Jasanovsky
