• Worked in different roles ranging from Individual Team Member to SME to Test lead. I had previously helmed a 3-member testing team for almost 15 months before moving on to Capgemini as a consultant.

• Spearheaded 2 automation drives, one in TCS, setting up a core automation team to function independently using HP UFT and the other in Capgemini, enabling a team of manual testers to pick up the PHP-based Behat framework for Behaviour Driven Testing. RESPONSIBILITIES - MANUAL TESTING

• Requirement Analysis: This includes understanding of the Client’s business needs & user requirements. Based on the contractual specification, resource gathering is also performed.

• Reviews: Formal reviews, Walkthroughs and Technical reviews are to be conducted with all stakeholders involved.

• Test Planning: Develop a roadmap for product testing through business logic, budget availability, target timeline and resources availability. This includes Sprint Planning, allocating points to User Stories and setting up of testing workflows in JIRA / ALM.

• QA Estimation: Liaison with the Product Management for Efforts, Billing and future testing scope. This includes Gap Analysis and cost cutting.

• Documentation: Develop and document industry standardized software testing procedures and policies, process improvements and other value additions offered to the clients. Reporting & Archiving are part of this category.

• Test Coverage: Design test scenarios as per the Business Requirement Document and Software Requirements Specifications procured from the client. Gross path coverage is calculated and an automation feasibility report is provided to the client.

• Test Case Writing: In accordance to the test coverage agreed upon, Epics, User Stories, TestScenarios and Test Cases are written. Expansive knowledge of use oftools such as HP ALM and JIRA play a vital role in this.

• Defect Management: Bugs and Defects are reported and tracked using above mentioned third party licensed tools. Defect analysis, root cause analysis and generation of traceability matrices are integral parts of this duty.

• Team Handling: Need to work in sync with the Client, the Onshore Team, the Near Shore team, Remote support teams and other vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES - AUTOMATION TESTING

• Framework Designing: Installation of software & hardware and configuration of the operating system as per the test framework's design requirement. Create a working model whose repository, the rest of the team can clone and use.

• Test Scripting: Based on the scenarios, tests are scripted. Knowledge of either licensed testing tools such as HP ALM&HP UFT or open source tools such as Selenium Web Driver and testing frameworks such as Behat 3.0 is a mandate for this.

• Test Script Execution: Test cases are categorized and executed as per the testing methodology agreed upon with the Project Management. Functional testing, SIT (system integration testing) and Regression testing are performed.

• Test Maintenance: Involves test suite development, code debugging & rectification and test task scheduling. Scripting test cases for new features added, migrating existing scripts to the most up-to-date framework version and enhancing the existing test suites for Functional and Regression testing purposes are all vital duties in regard to maintenance.

• Macros development: To prepare standalone automated scripts using Microsoft products. Extensive knowledge of VBA is required. Macros are sometimes used in both testing and reporting when an OTA is available. SKILL MATRIX
