Senior IBM ODM Analyst Jan 2017-March2017

Installed and configured IBM Operational Decision Manager for Marriott Vacation Worldwide Corporation.

Installed and configured Websphere Application Server and ODM on a two node LINUX development cluster.

Created a new enterprise test project in ODM and implemented required business rules in rules engine.

Senior Infrastructure Analyst (Cloud and Open source) Jan 2015-Aug 2016

Created MySQL databases in SEC Lab and published a comparison report of three major databases in the market. This helped in selecting the best product for Marriott’s on premise and cloud solutions.

Provided support to MySQL database by working closely with service provider DBA team.

Provided requirement analysis for Couchbase Database buckets and memory requirements for Couchbase servers for cloud initiative.

Performed complete analysis of each bucket and Couchbase cluster and recommended appropriate memory settings in achieve best performance.

Performed evaluation of PostgreSQL for SQL compatible open source databases.

Implemented High Availability clustering (HA) using Red Hat Cluster Suite (open source) for High Availability for PostgreSQL.

Initially implemented Active / passive clustering on shared storage for at least two servers (One active and at least one passive node) for applications which did not support sharding.

For applications, which supported sharding, an eight-node cluster was setup with support from vendor.

Tested Master/Standby replication using write-ahead log (WAL) from master to standby. Implemented the solution for an application with one Master and one standby.

As Infrastructure analyst in RUN organization, performed complete audit of all database software and provided recommendations for saving license cost by consolidation.

Worked closely with Service Provider organization in transitioning support at their offshore facility. Conducted Knowledge Transfer sessions and Tabletop sessions in India with Service provider Xerox which helped the transition to be successful in a short time.

Conducted weekly meetings with service providers to analyze incidents and problems of the past week and activities for the following week.

Worked with Infrastructure hardware team in successfully implementing server virtualization which significantly reduced license and support cost through virtualization and consolidation.

Technical Consultant April 2005-June 2014

Managed technical task assignments for a team of 8 DBAs including assigning and tracking work schedules, follow-up of task progress and successful customer requirement tracking.

Innovated a new method for applying Quarterly Oracle Security Patches which reduced the time for each patch from 4 hours outage to 15 minutes outage.

Gained an in-depth knowledge of the RAC architecture and Database administration with practical tasks related to application fail over, the use of flashback to recover from human errors, backups and restores using oracle secure backups, new levels of security, load balancing, usage of diagnostic tools such as AWR and ADDM to resolve potential database problems and Loading and unloading of data using the data-pump.

Single handedly migrated more than 15 MS SQL Server databases with over 2 terra bytes of data for Gaylord Hotels merger with Marriott and successfully went live under Marriott’s management on the scheduled date.
