PROJECT CONTROLS / SENIOR COST ENGINEER
Assigned as a senior cost engineer in TVA’s Nuclear Projects Group (NPG) providing financial support for the NRC required multi-year ~$330M NFPA 805 Fire Protection program at the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant. Responsibilities included providing monthly budget and forecast information along with monthly accruals to corporate finance and site management and in addition, develop budget cash flows for various projects within the program along with developing monthly CPI/SPI data. Other duties included reviewing and monitoring contracts and purchase orders for various engineering vendors associated with the program.

Assigned as a senior cost engineer in the core Project Controls organization representing TVA at the Bellefonte Nuclear Plant by providing support and oversight to the project’s two (2) major construction contractors; VECTOR (Bechtel and Sargent & Lundy, a consortium) and Areva. During the initial phase of the project, responsibilities include providing monthly forecasts to Financial Services, working with the schedulers in conjunction with CPI / SPI reporting, etc. As the project grows from the engineering discovery phase into the construction phase, my responsibilities will increase.

COST ENGINEER CONSULTANT
Responsible for cost control and business plan development of the $106M Reactor Vessel Heads replacement project at STPNOC. This multi-year major project is a ‘first time evolution’ change out of the twin 1,350 MW reactor heads. Other responsibilities are to develop and maintain earned value metrics (SPI / CPI) utilizing the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) and the “Earned Value Project Management” methods. In addition to the Reactor Replacement Project, I was responsible for the budget and business plan development of the License Extension Project. This project upon completion will enable the plant to extend the operating license by twenty additional years. Currently providing decommissioning analyses associated with the decision to store the two (2) used reactor heads on site versus shipping them to a final disposal site.
