FX Renovation and Decommission Project is targeted at elimination of the legacy database (ADABAS) and migrate it to renovated system (NODE – Sybase database).

The project involves re-pointing of calls from legacy Financial Institutions ADABAS File with the call to FIF in the distributed DB2 table.

It also involves in identifying the optimum solution to re-point all the program calls to the Financial Institutions File in the mainframe ADABAS database with the call to FIF in the distributed DB2 table. This would enable decommission of the file in the legacy world and would be a step in renovating applications from the legacy to the distributed world.

Decommission team has developed and have been maintaining a plethora of decommission analysis tools which are used for various decommission related analysis viz., Inventory Analyzer (I Azer), Decommission Inventory Process (DIP), File Analyzer (F Azer), Reference table Analysis Tool (@REF), Natural Library Analyzer. These tools involved the submission of sequence of mainframe batch jobs to get the required results.

This project totally automated the decommission analysis tools and drastically brought down user intervention in running these processes.

It also involved in the development of an online user-friendly application on mainframes to enable the accounts team to do maintenance on transaction options that are logged to get the usage details.
