DATABASE ENGINEER, Overland Park, Kansas 2005 – June 2016

Performed major quality checks and validations for our North American core map database.

oManaged release of the south central United States (population of 36 million; five states including Texas).

oLed staff to detect and correct any major errors/issues before database was released to customers.

oDuring 10-year tenure, no re-releases or re-shipments occurred for south central United States.

Implemented new process for database releases, over the last two years.

oIncreased frequency from every three months to every week.

oDecreased process time from two weeks to two days.

Managed cleanup projects, based on customer requests, to improve overall quality of map product.

Supported other departments (including Field Operations, Production, and Technical Customer Service) to ensure that deliverables were completed at the highest quality level possible.

oEnsured that database specifications were met for deliverables, and procedures were followed by other departments in the completion of deliverables.

oE.g. directed tasks involving multiple departments dealing with unique situation with Texas-Mexico border crossing while avoiding possible quality issues.
