My name is Richard Cahalane.
I am a retired Logistics Team Leader from Chrysler/Fiat
As a team leader I supervised the receiving, storing, and shipping of parts and supplies.
The other team leaders and I along with the area manager developed and oversaw safety programs, and monitored the use of PPE and the following of all safety procedures.
I took inventory of parts I knew were “hot”
I trained new personnel in all areas of material department or logistics procedures.
I had nightly meetings to keep other department team leaders and department heads up to date on the status of material quantities, arrival times, and of any delays that could effect production.
Worked with the team leaders of the departments we distributed parts to in order to find ways to deliver parts to them in a more efficient manner, or just a more convenient way.
Every night I took inventory of all my forklifts and tuggers, carts etc.
Worked with other teams and my own in regard to complaints about my team members.
Worked on jobs as needed when emergencies arose or we just didn’t have people.
Planned schedules taking into account vacation, called in absences, etc.
I am very computer literate, part of my job as team leader involved using excel and power point, as an example creating a power point presentation explaining an in plant injury, or using excel to create a spreadsheet to relay inventory levels to dept heads.
