WORK EXPERIENCE

PROJECT ENGINEER/QUALITY MANAGER TPi Arcade, Inc., Arcade, NY 2002-2017

Managed all new projects and the quality system. Supervised 2 engineers and 3 quality technicians. Trained engineers from fresh out of college to become effective manufacturing experts and project managers. Was the go to guy for all the companies’ customers for design issues with new projects and problem solving with existing projects. Provided information and instructions for all production departments. Managed subcontractors for engineering and quality including tooling, machining and finishing suppliers with the goal of supplier development and improvement. Proactively sought out training sessions and webinars for myself and my subordinates to improve skills and be prepared for changing requirements in quality and industry standards.

PROJECT MANAGER Taylor-Pohlman, Inc., Orchard Park, NY 1994-2002

Taylor-Pohlman was a precursor company to TPi Arcade. As project manager I managed all aspects of manufacturing component parts for our customers from quote to delivery of finished product. This included the casting, machining, finishing and assembly of components. This project manager position was created based on an article I had read in Manufacturing Engineering Magazine. I proposed the concept to management, they agreed to implement it and it is still embraced by the company and appreciated by its customers to this day.

METHODS SUPERVISOR Taylor-Pohlman, Inc., Orchard Park, NY 1985-1994

Responsible for all machining engineering, planning and programming for CNC mills and lathes. Primarily machining of aluminum castings and some steel threaded fasteners.

MACHINE OPERATOR/CNC MACHINIST Buffalo Grinding Service 1978-1985

Buffalo Grinding Service was one of two companies that merged in 1985 to form Taylor-Pohlman. At Buffalo Grinding Service I learned how to operate screw machines first then to operate and program CNC lathes and mills. The primary product produced was specialty threaded fasteners steels and stainless. From the very beginning I was willing to take on new challenges as I bid on and was awarded the opportunity to program and operate the company’s first CNC machine.
