RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
The City College of New York (NOAA CREST) 06/2016-08/2016 Graduate Researcher, Civil Engineering Department
Conducted research on MODIS NDVI time series for detecting vegetation growth in Gandaki the River Basin of Nepal, from 2003-2016. Used Mat lab and ArcGIS to compute the variability in yearly maximum greenness from thirteen years of NDVI data. Examined the district of potentially higher and lower inter-annual variability in agricultural production. Results found to be useful in estimating the frequency of meteorological and agricultural drought events in Gandaki River Basin. ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Standalone Grids in Rural Nigeria; Researched the feasibility of using micro grid assimilation through a Photovoltaic System to generate electricity for schools in rural Nigeria. Used Mat lab to design a micro grid assimilation. Determined that this approach is feasible. December, 2016 Africa Vegetation Using MODIS NDVI; Researched the feasibility of using remote sensing technique to select croplands in regions of Africa in order to improve the agricultural practices. Mat lab was used to generate maps showing four clusters representing regions in Africa where croplands reside. It was determined that many farmers are not knowledgeable about the ideal land areas or seasons to plant, to maximize their production. December, 2016
OTHER EXPERIENCE
Physics and Mathematics Teacher, Delta Careers College, Nigeria 11/2011-8/2014 Taught mathematics and physics to high school students. Created improvised instructional materials, lesson plans, and lesson notes that incorporated real life applications.
Developed innovative instructional methods that became the standard for meeting district goals.
Led a class of sixty to increase students overall standardized test scores in both mathematics and physics by an average of 92% over the course of the year. AFFILIATIONS
