SR. PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

Design Lead for all Topsides – Responsible for the overall coordination of all 2D and 3D applications related to Topsides. Managed a group of designers delegated to projects, distribution of work, maintained master drawing index while measuring progress. Worked with client to ensure company standards, QA/QC procedures and document numbering specifications as well as providing weekly reports to project management and engineering. Coordinated work with other disciplines, piping, electrical and mechanical. Attended meetings with client, model reviews and management training.

MUSTANG ENGINEERING LP – 11/2011 TO 12/2013 – SR. STRUCTURAL DESIGN/CHECKER

Shell Deerpark-revamp project installing and fit-up of new equipment, piping and steel. FRAMEWORKS.This was a revamp project utilizing laser scanning as well as field trips to the site.

Assigned to the “INPEX ICHTHYS” LNG Project. A Mega $35 billion grassroots multinational project off the northern coast of Australia. R responsible for the Central Processing Facility which when completed will be the largest Semi-Submersible in the world. Fabricator – Samsung Heavy Industries

Assigned to the Cartagena Refinery Expansion Project, Colombia, a multi-unit 3.5-billion-dollar project as Design Supervisor as well as Civil/Materials Manager.

Responsibilities include all Material Requisitions for Inquiry & Purchase and the direct input of all piecemarks, anchor bolts, structural bolts, catch basins & manholes and any other tagged items or bulks.

Direct supervision of all steel drawings to six separate fabricators as well as being part of a shop qualification team in Bogota (BOCAD Steel Detailing Package)

Lead Design Coordinator for eighty-four modules (design & shop dwgs) being fabricated by CB&I at the Island Park fab yard in Beaumont, TX.

Oversaw the daily work of up to 100 designers at peak of project, distributed work packages, weekly progress reports and manhour estimates.

Ensured the document numbering system using idocs for all documents including drawings, reports, requisitions, and all other documents related to project from inside the company as well as those from vendors

Supervised the work of nine different fabricators and was responsible for all shop drawing approvals and served as liaison both domestic and international.

Worked on many jobs in the petrochemical and offshore (Deep Water Division) sectors as a Sr. Structural Designer and Project Group Leader, utilizing the latest software of the day from 2D AutoCAD to 3D modeling.
