Career Summary and Goals:
My nursing career has spanned 35 years caring for both children and adult groups, especially in the Perioperative Services, CVICU, Emergency Services, and Cardiac Cath Lab setting as a Registered Nurse. I have come to appreciate and integrate the compassion and empathy needed to care for clients in many age groups; however, my prime emphasis has been with adults and the geriatric population. It is my belief and value that healthcare is a vital commodity needed in all areas of this country, especially in lower income populations, which do not have the benefit of a health-driven industry resulting in poor health education and quality outcomes.
My long-term goal is to secure a permanent position as Acute Care Nurse Practitioner caring for all adult client populations in the hospital and/or clinic setting. I have enjoyed working as a Hospitalist NP x 4 years, but the opportunities on the West coast have been very difficult to maintain which encouraged me to relocate to Indiana for more accessible opportunities. I am excited to be in Indiana which allows me to travel to other surrounding states on the Midwest and East coast and continue my work as an Advanced Practice provider.
