Marutinandan Construction Assistant Engineer (June 2015 - November 2015)

Assisted Project Manager with preliminary surveys, soil testing and supervised the site during excavation and asphalt laying phase. Managed the quality control of all the materials used during pavement construction during my tenure. Learned different phases of pavement construction on site. Also, assisted project engineer with estimation on small phase of project.

V.R.V & Associates Intern (January 2014 –July 2014)

Worked in the areas of Building Planning and Interior designing for residential and industrial building. Responsible for drafting building drawings and blueprints. Learned the project delivery methods in construction and drafting RFI’s and Submittals.

Darshan Institute of Engineering and Technology Undergraduate Research Assistant (Aug 2014 –May 2014)

Worked in research laboratory in area of Recycled Asphalt Pavement and Stone Mix Asphalt. Performed test and recorded the data of various samples of RAP and SMA with varying asphalt content and varying aggregate sizes. Also, interacted with general contractors in Pavement construction area and learned current trends and future trends to be performed at research level in Asphalt mix design.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Cleburne State Park Concession/Bathhouse & Group Camp Improvements

Participated in Bidding of this project with entire set of Bid Documents followed by Onscreen Quantity take off using VU360; detailed estimate report prepared by using Timberline and RSMeans; Preliminary Schedule, Final schedule and basis of schedule prepared by using PrimeveraP6. We succeeded in getting 2nd lowest bid for the project by systematic estimation and scheduling.

Underground Freight Transportation Project- using Trenchless method of Construction

Selected pipe jacking method for construction and planned proper methodology for entire construction process. Calculated the productivity and selected equipment for shaft excavation, tunnel excavation, shaft wall support system, pipe placement in the tunnel and spoil removal. Contacted companies for quotation of tunneling equipment’s and calculate productivity.

Design and Construction of Two parallel tunnels for Underground Freight Transportation

Project includes construction of two parallel tunnels across the interstate highway. The scope of work was to calculate productivity of each field operations consisting trench excavation, trench wall support system, precast concrete pipe placement in the trench, pipe embedment and backfilling, delivery of concrete pipe sections.

Bituminous Mix Design Using Recycled Asphalt Pavement

Collected RAP samples from the vicinity project and examined each RAP sample for asphalt content. Also, performed several tests aggregate and asphalt as per requirement. Made several mixes with different percentage of RAP and tested each of the specimen in laboratory for strength and ductility. Presented the Detail Project report to Commissioner of Road Transport in municipality.
