As a student I provided primary care services under supervision of preceptor/clinical instructor and through didactic course material. I served as the patient's first point of entry into the healthcare system and provided comprehensive health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling, patient education, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses for ages across the lifespan. I worked along a team of both physician and non-physician health care professionals in which collaborative care and advocacy was integrated to meet the patients’ health care needs. Other than the delivery of primary care and disease prevention services I had exposure to hormone replacement therapy and management, weight loss management, mental health management, women’s health and gender dysphoria. These elements of management were highlighted experiences throughout this 576 hour clinical rotation.
